We believe in transformational over transactional

Welcome to Flowers by Zach-Low! We are a family owned and operated florist in Albuquerque, NM, we have been designing and creating floral arrangements and tributes since 1993. Flowers have a way of expressing our sentiments when words fall short or words are not enough and we are honored to be a part of that process! We are a full service flower shop designing floral arrangements for birthdays, holidays, life milestone and just because occasions, with a special heart for sympathy and tribute designs. On rare occasion you may see us design a wedding, but for the most part we feel that we are called to bring flowers to the moments that you need a kind word, a warm hug, or just to know that someone is thinking of you - this is where that transformational over transactional comes in.

We carry many different containers and vases, several cutesy animal or face vessels, sure to brighten the day long after the flowers have died. We believe that flowers don't have to be expensive to touch someone's heart - you will find some small cutesy containers on our website that will have a greater heart impact than a $200 vase arrangement, but if you'd like that big vase arrangement, we've got you covered there too!

When it comes to sympathy designs, we know that there is no greater honor in our industry than to be entrusted with the final tributes for your loved one. We love to hear the stories about your family and learn your loved one's favorite color, flower, hobbies, talents and quirks. When you walk into the funeral or memorial service, we want you to "see their life" in the flowers. Knowing who we are honoring through our designs gives us the opportunity to put more of them and their personality into the flowers. We've created some special heartfelt tribute arrangements with a nod to the memories that live on - be it an algae scientist, a bowling champion, a little superhero, or a quilter. We are honored to bring comfort to the family on one of their hardest and most reverent days.

As a generational flower shop with the second and third generation continuing on the legacy and designing and delivering beautiful flowers across Albuquerque and the surrounding area. You will find individual about me info below.
The Original Flowers by Zach-Low Family
In 1993 the Lowry family started Flowers by Zach-Low with the mission of providing cost-effective florals to the Albuquerque area. Little did we know how much we would fall in love with the language of flowers and all that goes with it. Now, 33 years later, the shop has grown and continues to be owned and operated by the second and third generations of the family.

First Generation – Joe and Katy
Joe and Katy helped lay the foundation of the family business, bringing hard work, dedication, and a commitment to serving the Albuquerque community.

Second Generation – Joe Dan and Davonna
Joe Dan and Davonna helped start the shop alongside Joe and Katy in 1993 and continue to guide the business today, balancing creativity with the day-to-day operations that keep everything running smoothly.

Third Generation – Danielle and Jacob
Danielle has been designing since she was young and now serves as lead designer and manager. Jacob started by washing buckets and processing flowers and is now the shop’s go-to emergency delivery driver.

Our Lead Designers

Danielle

Outside of work you will find me with my head in the clouds, whether that is chasing sunsets or hot air balloons, my phone will never have enough photos of the sky! I am often fueled by coffee and music, and passion for what I do and how it effects people.

Plants provide oxygen to us in a very scientific way. I believe that cut flowers provide a different kind of oxygen - when you see an arrangement that "speaks" the words that a friend or a loved one sent to you, you can take a deeper breath, you can drop your shoulders, you can breathe again, because every time you see those flowers, it is a tangible reminder that someone loves you and that you love someone. My favorite translation of words to flowers is to honor the lives of those who are no longer here. I wrote more about this in our about us above, and you can see some of those extra special pieces in our "Custom Floral Tributes" tab.

I know that the act of giving and receiving flowers touches people far past the deep inhale of the iconic rose scent, past the soft petals that we can't help but touch, and past the hues of color that catch our eye - sending and receiving flowers touches the heart and soul and often creates indelible memories not soon forgotten.
This is more than a job to me, this is a calling - to be the hands that work with the flowers that bring so much joy, love and compassion and touch the hearts the people in our community.

Davonna

I grew up in California and moved to Albuquerque after marrying my husband, a native New Mexican. Before flowers became part of my life, I worked in retail and administrative roles for large corporations, experiences that helped shape my strong work ethic and attention to detail.

More than thirty-three years ago, my family started a flower shop together. I began as a floral designer and spent many years at the design table, developing a style that has evolved over time. While I once preferred tight, manicured arrangements, I’m now drawn to designs that feel more natural and organic—bouquets with open space, curly willow, soft fillers, and unexpected containers.
Today my role focuses more on the business side, though I still enjoy designing during busy seasons. Creativity, strong relationships, and attention to detail continue to guide everything I do.

Outside of work, my greatest joy is spending time with my grandson—and soon-to-be grandsons. I also enjoy traveling, baking treats to share with friends and family, and keeping my creativity alive through crochet and graphic design.
